1. How do I obtain a login and password to view my Schwab account online?

Online access can be established 3 ways:

3. How do I change the address on my Schwab account?

Complete the Schwab Change of Address Form, then fax or mail it to Cornerstone Capital Advisors. If you need assistance, please contact a Cornerstone Capital Advisors team member.

4. How do I gift money or securities to a family member?

  • If the recipient has a Schwab account, you will need to sign a Schwab Journal Request and provide the recipient’s Schwab account number.
  • If the recipient has an account at a different brokerage firm, please provide the following information to a Cornerstone Capital Advisors team member to transfer securities:
  • Name of the receiving institution
  • Recipient’s account number & account registration
  • DTC Number (this is a 4 digit number that will be provided by the receiving institution)
  • Receiving institution contact name & phone number

A staff member will complete the appropriate form and mail or fax it to you for signature.

5. How do I gift money or securities to charitable organization?

  • If the recipient has a Schwab account, you will need to sign a Schwab Journal Request and provide the recipient’s Schwab account number.
  • If the recipient has an account at a different brokerage firm, please provide the following information to a Cornerstone Capital Advisors team member to transfer securities:
  • Name of the receiving institution
  • Recipient’s account number & account registration
  • DTC Number (this is a 4 digit number that will be provided by the receiving institution)
  • Receiving institution contact name & phone number

A staff member will complete a Schwab Charitable Gift Transfer Letter of Authorization and mail or fax it to you for signature.

6. How do I order new checks for my Schwab account?

7. How can I transfer funds or securities between my Schwab accounts?

One Time: Complete a Schwab Journal Request, then fax or mail the form to Cornerstone Capital Advisors.
Periodic/On Demand: Ask a Cornerstone Capital Advisors team member to set-up a “Standing Letter of Authorization” allowing movement of funds or securities between your accounts. Once this authorization is on file, you will need to contact a Cornerstone Capital Advisors team member who will initiate the transfer electronically.

8. How do I transfer cash between my local bank account and my Schwab account?

Contact a Cornerstone Capital Advisors team member and ask that a Schwab Moneylink® be established on your Schwab account. The team member will assist you in completing the Schwab Moneylink® Authorization Form. You will need to provide a photocopy of a voided check (not a deposit slip). The one-time set-up process will be completed in 10-14 business days. Subsequently, you will be able to transfer funds on demand or on a recurring basis such as monthly, quarterly, or yearly.

9. How do I transfer funds by wire?

Complete a Schwab Wire Transfer Letter of Authorization. If you need assistance, please contact a Cornerstone Capital Advisors team member. Return the signed form by fax or mail to Cornerstone Capital Advisors.

10. How do I withdraw money from an IRA?

Please contact a Cornerstone Capital Advisors team member. As IRA withdrawals have tax consequences, we will need to review your current tax status and recommend tax withholding amounts prior to making the distribution.

11. How do I change the beneficiary on my IRA account?

Complete the Schwab Beneficiary Designation Form, then fax or mail the signed form to Cornerstone Capital Advisors. If you need assistance, please contact a Cornerstone Capital Advisors team member.

12. How do I change my legal name on my Schwab account?

Name changes due to marriage, divorce, or other legal matters require your signature on a Schwab Second Name Letter. Please return the signed form with a photocopy of your marriage license, divorce decree, or other court-issued legal document by fax or by mail to a Cornerstone Capital Advisors team member.
